I've been scouring etsy and goodwill for some floral shorts like this, but no luck. Any suggestions?
DIY Journal
We've pretty much been doing nothing in art class, so I decided I would make a book for my dad for father's day. They're actually pretty easy to make once you get the hang of it. I'm really happy with how mine turned out.

You quite literally just sew the pages together. Look up "coptic binding" if you're interested in making one!
I just wanted to show you the detail on my shirt I'm wearing today (from Anthropologie). I love the colors, and of course I love lace! It also has some on the bottom which you can see some in the above pictures.
Despite all the lovely comments on my last post, I decided to keep the boots. They had more of those dresses, so maybe I can afford to rebuy it and keep it later. These boots were the only ones left. It's also easier to justify spending so much on boots rather than a dress. They were both rather expensive!
99% of the time, I like acoustic versions of songs better than the original. Here is a prime example:
By the way, anyone have any revolutionary tips for acne? Mine is looking pretty terrible lately.
Sorry for being so random today!

Woods
I took some photos of my friend Joey today and I actually really love how they turned out. I've been wanting someone to model for me!

IMPORTANT: Which should I keep?
I got both of these last night and I can only keep one or the other. If you were me, which would you keep?
J. Crew dress
or
Frye boots?

In love with the 80's
Sorry if the formatting on this is weird. I'm using the "updated" post editor and it'll take some getting used to.
I actually didn't wear this outfit to school, but I wish I did. When I got to school, I didn't like the green shirt I had originally picked out to go with this look, so I changed before I took these pictures. The sun finally decided to come out again! This is one of the jackets that I got from my grandmother who just passed away. We really did have the exact same taste. I wish she had lived closer to me so I could have gotten to know her better. I decided to go as 80's as possible for these pictures, so I turned my head upside down and hairsprayed my hair to get that 80's wild hair look. I'm not really in love with the 80's; my title is actually the title of a Relient K song.

Which photos are the best? I can't decide which ones to post to lookbook. I love this outfit, though!

Foundations
Just discovered this song, and I totally love it. I haven't even looked up any of her other music yet. I was just so excited that I had to share it with you. I've heard the name Kate Nash for awhile, but just got around to actually looking it up.
By the way, I WILL have her haircut soon, or possibly something similar!

Fade to Blue
I have been an avid Teen Vogue reader for many years, and out of all the fashion features I have seen in that magazine, this one from February 2009 has always stuck in my mind the most. I went through Teen Vogue's online archive looking for these photos so I could share them with you. I think this was the exact feature that started giving my confidence with my blonde hair and pale skin. It's like a scruffed up, desaturated J. Crew catalog. Click here to see on teenvogue.com

These photos have continued to inspire me to this day. For example:
I also still like photos with similar color schemes. More examples:
Okay, rant over. I just seriously love these photos!

Procrastination
Urban Outfitters has seriously had an influx of cute shoes recently. I might have to break down and buy those pink platform shoes. I could wear those everywhere!

Also, this comic describes me right this second. I'm supposed to be doing a resume for my marketing class. My dad showed me this and I was shocked at how accurately it describes my daily work ethic, blogging and all! :p The internet keeps going in and out, so it's making it extra difficult to get anything done.

And by the way, hello new followers! You probably found me through I Have the Golden Touch, who just featured me on her blog. Thanks Carrie! I will have more outfit posts soon. It just seems like instead of April showers bringing May flowers, April flowers brought the May showers this year!

Senior Art Show!
The first night of my art show was tonight, and it was so wonderful! One of my favorite things to do is stand around my pieces and eavesdrop on what people say about them. I had several people come up to me and tell me how amazing my sculpture was. That is probably my favorite thing I had in my show. Because this is my senior art show, I have stuff in it that I've done recently as well as a long time ago, so some of this might look familiar if you have been a long-term follower.
Also, I apologize if the photos look blurry. For whatever reason, they all turned out not so great. Hopefully I'll get more (better) pictures tomorrow night!
This is what my area looked like:

We all did cut-outs of ourselves from different time periods. Can you guess which one is me?

I'll get better detailed shots of all my new stuff when there's better lighting!
And by the way, I'm always SO shocked when a look I post gets more than like, 20 hypes. After seeing that and being at the art show, I'm seriously beaming with self-confidence at this point. :D

Balcony
I will be sooo busy from now until the end of next week. I have so much work that has piled up over the semester to finish. That's what I get for procrastinating I guess! I took some quick pictures of my outfit today:

H&M shirt, Hollister skirt, (mostly) my grandma's watches, which you saw in yesterday's post.
By the way, this isn't actually a balcony. It's my back porch. :p
Better posts soon, I promise!

Jewelry
We've been going crazy in art class trying to prepare for the art show this weekend. I can't wait to show you pictures of everything I've done, and maybe some pictures of the actual exhibit. Here's the post card for it. My painting is on the lower right:

It finally wasn't raining outside when I got home from school today, so I had a chance to photograph all the jewelry that I got from my grandma. I wish I could thank her for all these.
This one is my favorite.
Unfortunately the leather watch doesn't have a buckle. I don't know what I'm going to do to fix that.

The middle watch is actually my own watch. It fits right in with the others though. Obviously, the time is a little messed up on her watch. The one on the left opens up.
This charm bracelet has all sorts of really weird charms on it. I don't really know how any of these are significant.

These beads are from when my aunt visited China. She bought these and gave them to my grandma.

These beads are all little tiny roses.
I love this ring, but it's unfortunately way too big.

I asked my aunt if I could have this purse, and she looked at me like I was crazy and said, "oh those are just grandma's old lady purses. Of course you can have them." I thought they were cute.
