HALLOWEEN THRIFT SHOPPING.

I have no plans at all for Halloween. I'm sitting at home doing nothing but applying to colleges (and blogging). I went thrifting earlier today and got all this (in brand new condition) for only $10.50! The vest is reversible too. The scarf reminded me of those vintage YSL scarves I'm seeing everywhere.

WE ALL NEED LOVE.

I've just been doing some thinking today, and had nowhere else to put it, so here it is.

I looked around my senior English classroom and I just thought of how wonderful it is that everyone is different. If I went to any other high school, there would never be someone exactly like anyone else in there. If a whole new set of kids came to the school, the experience just wouldn't be the same. People say different things, they have different thoughts, they communicate differently, moods change, friendships change, opinions change, etc. These are probably thoughts you've had forever, but it just boggles my mind how absolutely complex people are, and the world is for that matter. Just take a second and imagine everyone around you laughing as hard as they can and then crying as hard as they can. They've all done it. There's not one person who's above anyone else. There's something out there that will break them down, and something that will cheer them up. When it comes down to it, love is everything. Everyone in the world needs love, no matter who you are. The nerd in the corner that never says anything needs love. President Obama needs love. The prettiest girl in the school needs love. Your awfully evil gym teacher needs love. Paris Hilton needs love. Your best friend needs love. If everyone in the world just loved everyone else, no problems could possibly exist. Maybe this is cliche to you, but honestly, it's a true realization for me. I am so filled with artistic inspiration that I don't know what to do with it right now.

THE FORMAT.

So I decided this blog would consist of a mix of fashion, music and art from now on. If I'm not doing something fashion related, it's probably one of the other two, so it works!

This song is by a band called The Format. His voice might take some time to get used to, but overall they have sort of a beach pop rock sound. If you go to Hollister you've probably heard their song "Tune Out." Unfortunately, they've broken up, but they still have some great stuff out there.

DIY #1

I finished my very first sewing-related thing! This dress used to be floor-length. Shortening a dress is more difficult than you'd think, but I'm really happy with the results!

VISUAL BIOGRAPHY.

I made this in my art class at the start of the school year. My assignment was just that: to make a visual biography that tells something about ourselves. I honestly had no idea what to do, so I just started sticking stuff on and here is the result!

Obviously, I play guitar. I've got photos of my boyfriend, me, and my best friend on there, two concert tickets (Relient k and warped tour), guitar picks, buttons, music notes, a stencil that came off a tag, some fancy paper, and some fabric. The buttons and fabric kinda resemble my love for fashion, and everything else is pretty self-explanatory. The thank-you letter is from a place my friend and I played guitar at. I also have a love affair with flowers (and cats)!

Ahh, I've really been neglecting this blog! I've been sooooo busy lately, but I have so many neat things to show you coming up!

I visited the Savannah College of Art & Design in Savannah, Georgia last weekend and it was amazing! Their fashion program is absolutely incredible! Now, if only I can raise $42,000...

They had an American Apparel store there and I got this extremely cute oxford tunic. I know AA is sometimes overrated, but I still love the fact that their clothes are made in the USA sweatshop-free, overrated or not.
