Forsyth

I managed to bike to the main park here in Savannah safely with my friend Brett the other day.  I absolutely love the trees around here.  We had fun swinging and whatnot.

Lately it seems like free time doesn't really exist, which is why my poor blog is being neglected.  Even now I have homework that I should be starting.  I have two art projects and a test all due at the beginning of next week.  Hopefully I'll be going to the beach today if the rain clears up, then I'll start work tomorrow.  Art school is tons of hard work, but it totally pays off.  I've loved every day of SCAD so far, and hopefully I will be able to post some of my work soon!

Waiting For The End

So, in Savannah, Georgia, fall doesn't exist.  It's still like 95 F every day, plus humidity.  Whenever I visit home it's going to seem quite chilly.  I just wish I could wear some fall clothes!

I have been enjoying SCAD so much, and I had such an amazing weekend.  Friday, Danielle and I (my roommate) found this really neat little vintage/consignment shop with all kinds of stuff and floral prints everywhere.  It was an absolute dream, I'm bringing my camera next time!  They had vintage Coach  bags for under $40.

Saturday I walked around the city with my friend Brett, and we found lots of neat stores and whatnot.  That night I joined the Super Smash Bros league at SCAD, which is actually taken pretty seriously here.  They had a whole tournament and rules set and everything.  I met some girls there, and got to play the game in their dorm for awhile.  Some random guys were having a dance party in their room a little later, complete with a DJ booth, so that was pretty fun, too.  College life is so random!

Sunday, I went to church in the morning, and Savannah is SO quiet at 9 am on a Sunday, that's for sure.  I don't think I saw a single other person on the street besides the guy I was walking with.  I really enjoyed it though.  They served us free food, of course.  They know how to get college students.  I never really understood the importance of free food until college!

On a really unrelated note, Brett gave me probably 20 new CD's to listen to, which is going to take me forever, because he had specific listening instructions for a lot of them, haha.  I got the new Linkin Park album on my own, which I LOVE.  Nobody else seems to like it but me, but I guess I just accepted that it's totally different from their other stuff.  Here's one of my favorite songs, which is actually a little reggae inspired:

Texture

So this is what I've been busy with lately!

Eighty 1 inch squares filled with textures and line variety.  This was sooo time consuming!  Unfortunately school has taken a toll on my blog posts, but I will post as often as possible, even if it might turn into an art blog for awhile.  

I'm loving everything about SCAD so far, except maybe the food, haha.  My roommates are out partying now, which I don't really do, so I'm just enjoying some alone time.  It's nice to be alone when you have to constantly live with other people.  You always take advantage of it!

College!

I have been so busy the past few days!  All last week I was cleaning the house and getting last-minute things done before I left for college.  My parents and I packed our car completely full of stuff on Friday and drove to Savannah.  Seriously, if the car was one square foot smaller, everything wouldn't have fit into it.  I wish I had taken a picture of how stuffed it was.

Saturday, I got up at 6 at our hotel and started moving in at 8, and even then it was super hot and humid.  I'm still sore from carrying all my stuff.  I also met my roommates Jennifer and Danielle, who are both very sweet.  It's nice to have roommates that I can actually be friends with.  When we first walked in the dorm room it looked like a jail cell, but we've got it all fixed up now.

I made it to my first class today, Drawing I, without getting lost.  I have another class tonight, so I have plenty of time in between.  I really love SCAD so far!

Riverside

I just realized I never shared these pictures with you, even though they aren't spectacularly interesting or anything.  Lindsay and I visited this little town called Valle Crucis, NC when I visited her the weekend before last.  The park there was absolutely beautiful, and it made me wish there was a place like this closer to home.  Imagine the photography opportunities!  Neither of us had our cameras, but these were taken with her iPhone 4, and personally I think the quality is great for a phone.  I even got these off Facebook, which reduced the quality even more, and they still look decent.

I love this photo.  It looks straight out of an Anthropologie catalog.  Go Lindsay!

I know, I always wear this dress.  It's my go-to outfit!  It works in the summer with short leggings and sandals, and in the winter with long leggings, boots, and a coat.  I'm buying this dress again when it goes on sale; that's how much I love it.

Lindsay's wearing an H&M dress, Abercrombie & Fitch short leggings, Frye sandals, and a Lucky Brand purse.  I'm wearing my usual Free People dress, H&M leggings, vintage Dooney & Bourke purse, and just some Rainbow flip flops.  I haven't worn ordinary flip flops in ages, but I had blisters on my feet so I had to!

Red Lace

I LOVE my outfit today so much.  I actually went in a thrift store with this outfit on, minus the lace shirt, and I got so excited when I found this shirt because it's perfect with this.  Also, my pictures turned out good today!  I like the red lace with the green leaves.

And also, I got a wonderful haircut!  My hair stylist is so great.  She was actually VERY pregnant and having minor contractions while cutting my hair, haha, but she still did a great job.  That's how talented she is!

I get to see my best friend today!  She's coming home from college for labor day weekend.  I can't wait!

Zara Online Store

Today was the opening of Zara's highly anticipated online store, and there are a few pieces I wouldn't mind having.

The best thing is, all of these could pretty much be worn together in different combinations.  Can this be my fall wardrobe, please?
