It's funny how the first few times you go thrift shopping, you can't believe how cheap everything is and you buy anything you like. But after awhile, you go shopping and you see those specially priced items and you think, "Really? Five dollars for this? That's way overpriced."
Anyways, I went thrift shopping today, and I actually had too successful of a day. I found all sorts of things that would be great for my imaginary vintage store that I've yet to create. I only had $20 to spend though, which may sound like a lot for just a thrift store, but it really isn't as much as it sounds like. I ended up just getting four things.
First, I checked out the shoes, which I always do first, and I found these practically brand new lace-up boots. I think people must have done their spring cleaning finally, and got rid of winter shoes, because Goodwill was loaded with great boots! I'll probably cut off that little label, I hate those.
Next, I got these vintage boots that I really really love.
The only problem is, the tongues on them are really beat up.
I have this really cute kitten fabric that I might cover them with, or I might try to find some floral fabric, just to put on the tongue of the boot. What do you think?
I also got this vintage shirt that's too big, but it's such a cute pattern, and belting fixes that anyways.
Lastly, I finally got a denim vest. I've been looking for one forever, ever since I saw this denim feature in a seventeen magazine years ago.
I didn't get this last one at the thrift store, I actually got it at Buckle last night. I went in there with my friend while he was looking for shorts. When he was trying them on, I was just glancing at the sale stuff when I picked this out. The sales girl literally gave me a whole outfit, from shoes to jewelry, to try on with it. That was some serious suggestion selling. I told her I was going to major in fashion, and she actually said I should apply there! I was pleasantly surprised at how flattering this crop top was, though. Usually they look weird on me.
I wanted to photograph my outfit today, but alas, the rain kept me from doing so. Maybe next time!
My birthday is tomorrow!!! We're going out to dinner tonight. :)
To The Sea
Nothing screams summertime more than Jack Johnson's music. Seriously, buy this album, play it in your car when you're driving around the beach. It's wonderful.

Bright
Today has been kind of strange. When I took these photos this afternoon, things were pretty great, as opposed to now. Boys just tend to make things complicated. Do you ever feel like everyone is happy except you?
Anyways, I painted my nails tonight, and they look terrible now. I can't last more than an hour with a manicure. One thing that's been keeping me smiling is this awesome haircut. It seriously does wonders for my hair. I love it so much!
Shirt from TJ Maxx, Free People pants, Aldo shoes, vintage jewelry
I feel like when wearing white pants, everything else needs to be clean cut, yet interesting and colorful. Even though they're so plain, they are easy to overwhelm.
I've only eaten one meal today, I need to fix that!

Blog Updates
I've been working on some blog layout stuff tonight, and I would love to know what you think! I added images to the categories in the sidebar, and an "older posts" link at the bottom to make it easier to look through everything. I also made a formspring.me for this blog, so you can ask me questions or say nice things! The link is in the sidebar or right here:
I love questions! Just please, be nice! Constructive criticism is the only type allowed.
I also added a few new blogs (and replaced some old ones) in my favorites section. Make sure to check out the ones you've never heard of! Right now I'm really loving the Free People blog. If I was a blog (besides my own), I would be this one!
Lastly, I'm thinking about doing a blog giveaway soon. No guarantees, but I just think it would be fun. I don't have sponsors, so it will probably just be something I choose to give away. Let me know if you'd be interested, and what you'd be interested in winning!
By the way, I got this quilt for my dorm! It looks a lot less green in person, and the pink roses show up more.
I also got this ridiculous cat pillow, which is floral print on the back, as seen here.
I'm planning on pairing it with some light brown, leopard print sheets. I know none of it goes together, but it all looks surprisingly good in real life, I promise. :p

I graduated high school!
More pictures to come eventually. This was the only one taken on my camera. The rainbow cord is for National Art Honor Society, the red and gold one was for Spanish Honor Society, the pink for Tri-M music honor society, and the white thing was for plain 'ol National Honor Society. I made the right choice not to wear high heels! We had to walk down so many awkward stairs.
My birthday is very very soon!!
